Product Description

Do your horses get impatient at feeding time?  Calling, pacing, prancing, kicking….these are a few of the things you may have noticed your horses doing when it is time for food.  Why do they do this?  It is not natural for a horse to go hours without eating.  Their digestive systems do not tolerate our feeding schedules well.  They produce digestive acids all day long, because in the wild they would be grazing constantly. When stomachs sit empty, horses are more prone to colic, stable vices, ulcers, etc.

Provide controlled access to forage for your horses 24/7!!!

The Freedom Feeder small mesh hay net allows your horses to feed naturally through a simple “restricted free access” feeding program.  This system works on the principle that when horses have to work for their food, it slows down eating and causes them to salivate more while chewing...improving digestion.

Nets can be hung on fences, in stalls, or laced shut and tossed on the ground. This material has a 250lb/strand tensile strength!  Regular size feeders can hold 35 lbs of hay.  Follow the instructions on the bag for hanging the feeder and transitioning your horse.  We also have a video on our website where you can see my horse using his feeders!

I personally have been using 2 of the regular size nets in my Thoroughbred’s stall, and I am very happy with them.  They are easy to fill and keep him satisfied all the time.  He actually prefers eating from the feeders.  For a “hard keeper” he looks really good!

  1. Working great the 2nd time around

Posted by Unknown on 24th Jul 2011

I wanted to say thanks for letting me give this product a 2nd try. My horse destroyed the small size freedom feeder and you guys convinced me to give it another try in a larger size, by giving me a discounted price, at the HHF. I have to say it's been 3 months and still working great!

  2. Freedom Feeder medium size

I got 2 feeders a week ago, and I love them! If you tie them up right, they are absolutly save. Right now I throw them in the pasture. My horses LOVE them, they are busy all day and night long. This is a good investment for the health of your horses!!!!! I hope they will last a long long time!!!
